My wife and I wanted to keep an eye on the nanny with our baby to work. When the network cameras tested for several months, so the fact that only Panasonic cameras constantly receive feedback (usually seemed positive), while the cameras of other brands such as Linksys, D-Link received, etc. mediocre or poor ratings. So I went with Panasonic. And after about a month I must say I am very impressed. A little history: I have a Linksys WRT54G Classic 802nd 11g router with 2 WinXP PCs to it via ethernet and 3 more PCs connected wirelessly, I also AT & T / SBC DSL service via a Speedstream 5100 DSL modem. If you are moderately computer to read and write, you should) no problem following the instructions for the Setup (view and control the camera mode, wired or wireless Wi-Fi capabilities have.
But if you (the configuration of the camera are considered, and controlled) by the Internet, you need a little more work. And that’s where Panasonic is very good, excellent customer support line is in. Panasonic 8_0_0-2_7_2-7_0_3_3, they are Mon-Fri 9-9 and Sat / Sun 10-7 Eastern U.S. time, what support is available for the lifetime of the product. It takes you through configuring the camera, you can configure your router (including those for port forwarding), and then register for free with Panasonic dynamic DNS web service. This last point is important: Panasonic network cameras include free dynamic DNS hosting service life of the product, other brands offer the service for an annual subscription.
Good step by step, here is how the camera for viewing Internet-config:
First, if you DSL, I (as opposed to cable broadband in Use contrast to), you have the DSL modem for “bridge mode.” (If you do not DSL, then you can skip this step.) In fact, DSL modem acts as router and port forwarding can not be behind the two router and DSL modem to work (in my case) Linksys WRT54G router. If you wish, you can call your DSL tech support and ask that you replace as a “bridge” your DSL modem. But here’s what I did.
1 Connecting to your DSL modem (for me 192. 168. 0. 1) to your DSL account (for me, my e-mail SBCGlobal).
2 Choose Advanced>> PPP Location
3 Select Bridged Mode (PPPoE is not used), then change the PPP location
4th When you are prompted, restart the DSL Modem
5 Log in to your router (for me 192. 168. 1. 1)
is 6 Under Setup> Basic Setup>> Internet Connection Type, select PPPoE from, and enter the DSL login & password information that you usually enter in your DSL modem to authenticate your DSL service.
7th At this stage, the “bridging” should be a have been successful. To ensure that the reduction was successful, click Status>> router and verify that you are “connected” with an indication of the IP address. If successful, you should also see that your DSL “internet” light is off, if your router “internet” light is on. What you’ve done essentially on the point of authentication for your DSL service from DSL modem, switch to your router, DSL modem limited to acting as a bridge for the DSL service with your router.
8th We now turn to the configuration of the camera itself. I assume that the device is already configured for wired and wireless mode. Register in the network camera (for me, 192 168 .. 1. 253).
9 Click on “Configure”. Change the number of standard port 80-50000 (fifty thousand) and enter the IP address of the camera (for me 192. 168. 1. 253). Click Save and restart the device. When it is finished restart (taking as long as 1. 5 min), it is Use config to the “top” side of the camera screen.
10 Log into your router and go to Applications & Gaming, where you will be able to port forwarding.
11 in the port area, 50,000 “Start” and 50000 “end”. Enter to check the IP address of the camera (for me, 192 168 .. 1. 253). To. Save the settings.
Sign up now 12th in the camera. Go to setup>> Dynamic DNS. Select Viewnetcam-dot-com, then click “Continue”.
13th click on “My Account” link “to the viewnetcam. COM registration page if you are new, and then the recording. Enter your registration information and select your domain name viewnetcam-dot-com (eg yourname viewnetcam-dot-dot-com). Click Select.
14th Well, you see a page confirming your registration. Under state DDNS wait to see you active. You must wait until the domain registration 10 minutes, occurs when the status will change to “Active.
15 We’re almost done, stay with me from WinXP Start menu click Run and type” cmd “open a DOS window.
16th in the DOS window, type” ipconfig / all “which shows various information about your computer’s network. Under Ethernet LAN connection, copy the two addresses under DNS server.
17 back into the camera, select Settings Login and enter the 2 DNS Server addresses from ipconfig / all “in the fields of DNA-2.
18 Back to viewnetcam-dot-com, log into your account and check that the DDNS status is now active. If so, then it can start!
19th To viewnetcam-yourname dot-dot-com: 50000 to see your network camera on the internet!

OVERVIEW
The BL-C131A is a wireless camera / router-based (no PC required). In my opinion the only way cameras because of the instability is linked to PC solutions (eg PC freeze-up, power dissipation, etc., should be used.) If an IP-based system that requires its own Internet address space from which the included software makes a very good job setting up automatically.
MY EXPERIENCE I have more than 20 Web cameras attempted without wire of 7 brands in the past 5 years ($ 100 – $ 600) and none close to the performance, reliability, ease of configuration, Panasonic cameras on consumer product. Dlink used to lead the pack until the units BL-C20A/30A is released. I was a fan of dlink but the software installation, configuration of remote cameras, and dynamic DNS Viewnetcam the Pana is the best today.
SERVICES
and a thin extracellular matrix, which in my homeland. Each photo is only 320×240, so they 8kb fast download.
– The included software is the best on the market to find the camera to your system and try to configure automatically. Most software engineers have to be slaughtered because of the sloppy code, but the Panasonic software and firmware (software inside the camera) is very good for the configuration and reliability (I am an electrical engineer and I know the majority of the sloppy way people think).
– Technical Support for Panasonic is the only support I (of 7 stamps with English-speaking Americans, and not “Engrish”). Contacted your patience and their knowledge is truly remarkable, and worth every penny costs extra camera.
– I recommend you also purchase the wireless router from Panasonic. It automatically configures the camera and is very easy to find: control cameras.
– the ability to reset / configure the remote cameras is invaluable! travleing I’m often in China, home in Chicago, or my house in Florida and want to change. I can do it remotely with a 100% success after the initial setup done. I could even setting up some cameras in Chicago and FedEx to my wife in Florida, and they have a perfect start in the other system
– the dynamic DNS service Viewnetcam incredibly reliable. He never did regain my camera and reset / every hour, so if your ISP changes your dynamic IP address (Comcast is worse), you always have the cam back in 1 hours.
– The ability of this snap, small group of monitors and a “mouse” on the camera pan-tilt-zoom are outstanding.
– The built-in microphone is surprisingly sensitive and picking up small sounds surprisingly good. I was able to children playing outside the house cam inwardly hears.
– The built-in screen, multiple servers can integrate the different models of cameras. For example, I use a BL-C131A cam as # 1 on my mother’s house for PTZ and audio. I can write a Bl – C30A single PTZ for photo / video and a BL-C20A set for photo / video. All this in a screen co-exist and work fine!
– ideal for photo snapshots to create a simple Web page, while the display of multiple images on 1 page (I have
– The function of the phone (display on a mobile browser) works incredibly well. I use it every day on my Treo700P with Sprint.
disadvantages / CAUTIONS
– A Web Cam is tedious to install, regardless of brand. Be patient and call the technical support of NAPA, before using the device.
– Do not expect HD quality – these are 640×480 screens the best and the download speed of your home network is always the limiting factor. I recommend no more than 4 models online once since this overhead even a good 768 KB upload system.
– the pan-tilt controls are excellent. Many left-right trip down, but rise is limited. In addition, the Zoom is digital zoom (not optical zoom) is very grainy and not much value.
– The cams can fight packages and “tongues” of your VoIP phone calls. SUMMARY
exceptional product. I now have 14 units all over the world and all are cold reliable. Just great products.

I have experience with D-Link cameras, and it is much better. The installation was a multistep process, but it went well, and the address of free Internet really works. The camera has not yet lost the signal, and I put an end to most of my wireless network. The picture is clear, sound is ok, the interface is very good. Works well only with Internet Explorer. On a Mac, the video in Firefox, but without sound. I do not know expored all the features yet, but the point is that it (more than works for many wireless products can be said).

You can do all the setup on the web server, which in MPlayer – even the latest firmware. It is not necessary to install something of the authority (only included with Windows CD). Streaming MP4 or MJPEG video works outta the box in Safari as well as the capture static – no need for drivers or something else. . If you are looking for typical, is painless MacOSX setup with this Panasonic webcam get. .

I bought four of these cameras and found that the burning software included with it has a license to be incorporated into a camera. If you want to register as a camera, you need an updated version with additional licenses and lists for $ 399 and Amazon buying it for 315 $. 03 + Shipping Network Camera Software
If you cause to consider more than buying a camera for monitoring to ensure that the additional costs.
